Read about our visit
Our visit to the Mr. Drew Exotic Animal Education Center at their new Poland, Maine location was an absolute blast! This rescue and rehab center has a wonderful mission, and we loved how hands-on everything is. During our stay, we got to safely interact with reptiles, watch a massive group of tortoises, and even feed them lettuce on a stick! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. Beyond the animals, there’s a fantastic indoor geology sand pit where kids can don a headlamp and dig up treasures to keep. They even offer a generous pay-what-you-can admission day on Tuesdays to support the local community. It’s a heartwarming, educational day trip perfect for all ages.
