Information
This aquarium is run by the Maine Department of Marine Resources and serves as a fantastic window into the local waters. It’s a smaller, more intimate facility focused specifically on the Gulf of Maine ecosystem. You can expect to see local favorites like “blue” lobsters, sea stars, and various North Atlantic fish. The atmosphere is traditionally very educational, with touch tanks that allow you to feel the texture of sea urchins and anemones while learning from the scientists who work on-site.
